Autumn retreat 2026

Quinta Do Rabacal, Portugal

30th September- 4th October

Team Anahat is ready to take you on a new wellness and self discovery adventure. And this time its truly very exciting! It is believed that travel can lead to self transformation. That is because you distance yourself completely from the environment that made you believe who you are. When you completely disconnect from the people, the places, the customs, the culture; it gives you an opportunity to see your true self without any filters, without the environment telling you that you are something else. You are a blank page.

This is why team Anahat is shifting its backdrop from the picturesque British landscape to the stunningly restored ancient hamlet in Portugal – Quinta do Rabacal. Set Amidst the serene stone terraces of the picturesque Mondega river – Quinta do Rabacal has 40 acres of forest and pristine wilderness. The energy of the resort perfectly aligns with our intention of providing a platform for our guests to fully detach from the world they come from , to reset and rejuvenate the mind and body. You are invited to join Anahat Yoga’s Autumn yoga retreat from the 30th of September to the 4th of October, 2026.

And this time we will not cross our fingers for outdoor yoga – WE WILL practice yoga under the blue sky and salute the sun in all its glory. This retreat is slightly different to the ones we have hosted in the UK. The ones in the past were positioned on the principles of discipline (tapas), establishing a yogic life routine (abhyas), understanding the foundations of yogic kriyas/lessons (svadhayaya) and following the rules of leading a yogic life (niyama).

Our Autumn retreat 2026 will be focused on the principles of ‘Fikah’ – inspired by the Swedish tradition where people meet, eat, drink, talk to take a break from the hustle and bustle of daily life. We will work together on finding avenues through traditional yoga methods that are still relevant in current times. Breathwork, chants, talks from industry experts, different styles of yoga practice, meditation techniques and combine it with nature walks, swim in the sea, watch the setting sun while practicing gratitude, ice breaker activities to connect with other like minded individuals, silent bonfires and much more.

A bit more relaxed in its approach (so no 6am start) we are going on a ‘YOGA HOLIDAY’ Yoga pants and sun hats, lemonades (not spiked) after breathwork, chanting and your favourite playlist on spotify, activating the digestive fire (agnisar) and dipping in the pool, yoga nidra (sleep) and staring at the twilight sky – we will practice the ‘balance’ of holding on and letting go –just what autumn teaches us and also the practical balance that you need in your lives after the retreat.
