What is Anahat?
Welcome to Anahat yoga – We host international unique yoga retreat experiences to bring you a holistic approach to the mind, body and soul.
Nimmi Saraf and Sweta Bahri, two very passionate yoginis are from Indian origin and have been living in the UK for many decades. They noticed a gap in the way yoga was perceived outside of India. After practicing yoga in India and in the UK, both felt the difference in yoga practice in the 2 continents. They noticed that yoga was a more physical activity restricted to poses, alignments, muscle groups and spinal structure. The anatomy took over the energy (prana) that resides beneath the physical body – the vital force that should be experienced on and off the mat. However, they believe that yoga Asanas aren’t enough to bring you closer to what Yoga truly means.
They decided to join hands and bring this Ancient knowledge to the doorsteps of all the passionate yogis who were eager to deepen their practice but did not have access to the resources.
Anahat is for all those who cannot or have not been to the land of yoga but would like to experience the world within through yoga as a lifestyle. Anahat yoga is designed to take you deeper into the world of yoga through kriyas, chants and mantras, talks on yogic philosophy (Yoga sutra, Bhagvad Gita, Hatha yoga pradipika) to help you practice yoga as a way of life. The whys and hows of meditation, getting familiar with concepts of vayu, pranic energies, the gunas and the list can go on. And of course, a deep understanding and practice of the movement and flow of Prana in our bodies. The experience is in collaboration with their gurus, yoga teachers, Ayurveda specialists and experienced professionals from India to help you understand this ancient science.
Meet our Yoginis
We are a dedicated team of experienced and certified yoga instructors who are committed to creating an exceptional yoga retreat experience for our guests. Our instructors are passionate about sharing the practice of yoga in various styles and have years of teaching experience. They are dedicated to help others find inner peace, balance and cater to the needs of different skill levels, whether you are a beginner or an experienced practitioner.
Nimmi is a Chartered Accountant from Rajasthan, India who has lived in various countries before settling in London. Yoga has been a passion of hers since childhood and she has completed two 200-hour teacher training courses from The Yoga Institute in Mumbai and Adhiroha Yoga School in Rishikesh. Her goal is to share the spiritual benefits of yoga beyond just physical exercise.
Sweta is a certified yoga instructor with over a decade of experience practicing yoga. She is certified by the UK yoga alliance and comes straight from the land of yoga. She has practiced yoga all over India in places such as Mumbai, Delhi, Goa, and Kerala. She can teach both beginners and experienced practitioners and tailors her classes to help them awaken their inner Buddha.

Good morning yogis, I am having withdrawal symptoms. I’ve had an experience of a lifetime, as this was my first ever retreat! I slept like a baby, totally uninterrupted, which hasn’t been the case for the longest (after effects of my yoga retreat) 🙂

Sweta and Nimmi – So much gratitude for you both. I am so glad I made it to the retreat. Every moment of the retreat was magical and taught me something new.
We get so busy in our lives that we forget to take time out for ourselves and this weekend was a huge reminder that we should put ourselves first. I went straight back into a busy day today but have tried my best to incorporate what I learnt over the weekend. Started my day with pranayama, then yoga and have reminded myself to take breaks through the day to decompress.
A big thank you for bringing in this much needed discipline into our lives, for gently reminding us of sometimes pushing ourselves out of our comfort zones and for making the experience unforgettable.
